Surveillance of Personal Mobile Comms is No Big Deal for Telcos
Requests for the collection of personal data should not prove to be a challenge for telecommunication companies.
As detailed in last week's Queen's Speech, the Government "intends to bring forward measures to maintain the ability of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies to access vital communications data under strict safeguards to protect the public, subject to scrutiny of draft clauses".
Leeor Ben-Peretz, V-P of business development at Cellebrite, said its solutions for the transfer and forensic analysis of data were complementary to what was in the bill, but a challenge may come for governments in terms of legal rights and data management.read the whole article

Detectives investigating the shooting death of a sheriff’s deputy in Sacramento, California, found a wealth of useful information in the 16-year-old suspect’s mobile phone.
Using a digital forensics tool weighing about 2 pounds, they were able to skirt passwords, pulling text messages and photographs from the teen’s phone and 16 other mobile devices belonging to fellow members of the Tiny Rascal Gang. The evidence helped prosecutors win a murder conviction.

Cellebrite in O2 Germany Deployment

Customers can now transfer their content automatically from one mobile to another in a few minutes in store, using the device, free of charge.
