Opportunity for mobile service providers to score with value-add offerings
Independent research surveying 1,000 mobile phone users in Germany revealed that only 14 percent regularly backup the content of their cell phones, although almost half (45 percent) have lost their mobile phone at some point. This is the result of a recent study on mobile phone data security commissioned by Cellebrite, the leading provider of cell phone synchronization and management systems. Perhaps this can be explained by the fact that two thirds of those interviewed were not even aware that back up services are available from certain service providers and retail outlets. All this pointing to the significant market potential for providers and their retail channels to offer additional services, increase customer loyalty and create new revenue sources.
